This volunteer role supports young people to attain their drivers licence through providing the young person with the requisite supervised driving hours. Typically, young people who participate in this program do not have access to adults who are in a position to provide driving supervision.

The role involves spending a minimum of two hours per week on the road with a learner driver. During this time spent with the learner driver, the volunteer is required to provide supportive guidance, encouragement and build appropriate confidence in the learner driver. The goal is to prepare the learner driver to pass their provisional licence test.

It further provides an opportunity for a volunteer to develop a mentoring-type relationship with the programme participant.

There are both automatic and manual cars provided.
