It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that our Aboriginal Cultural Engagement (ACE) Program at Weave will wind up at the end of this month. We have had to make this difficult decision because despite continued concerted efforts over the last 2 years, we have been unable to secure funding to sustain ACE beyond 30 June 2025.

Weave acknowledges and celebrates the enormous impact of the Aboriginal Cultural Engagement Program. The team, past and present, can be very proud of the opportunities they’ve created for healing, pride, connection and strength in culture and identity. The Weave community, including clients and staff appreciate this work so much. We are deeply grateful to current ACE staff Mark Thorne and Beau Foster, and to past staff Cianni Roberts, Natasha Thorne and Lauren Ella-Duncan, and loyal volunteer, Trei Stewart, for their work.

This difficult decision to wind up the ACE program for now does not represent a lessening of Weave’s commitment to facilitating cultural engagement opportunities for our clients and communities, or to building our cultural capability as an organisation. This is an imperative aspect of our work at Weave, and we will seek to find ways to continue this important work together with our team and partners in the community.

If you have any questions, or if you want to support us to continue this work, please reach out to our CEO, Siobhan, at siobhan@weave.org.au or to our Senior Programs Lead, Dylan, at dylan@weave.org.au
