Kool Kids Volunteers

Help out with our early-intervention after school and holiday program.

  • Location: Activities run out of various locations. Our office for this program is in Malabar.
  • Time commitment: The Kool Kids program requires some flexibility from our volunteers. Generally we expect a commitment of 4 hrs per week (on a specified day) on an ongoing basis of at least 6 months.
    School terms: Monday to Thursday, minimum 4 hours per week, between 2.30 – 6.30 pm.
    School holidays: Timing during school holidays may vary.

Volunteer on our Kool Kids program.

Weave’s Kool Kids Club is an early intervention and prevention program providing children aged 7-13 years, with opportunities to engage in recreational activities and mentoring.

Focused on improving social health and wellbeing, connection to culture and promoting strength and resilience, Weave works with local schools to deliver free after school and holiday activity programs for young people in Sydney.

Kool Kids programs vary each term, and can include activities such as:

  • Arts & craft
  • Swimming
  • Cooking
  • Creative writing
  • Surfing
  • Footy
  • Leadership

You will be assigned to support a specific activity depending on your availability, skills, experience and interests.

General duties will include:

  • Helping to run fun and engaging activities for Kool Kids as directed by Weave staff.
  • Helping with meal preparation, activity planning and supervision and other relevant tasks as requested to support Weave staff.
  • Engaging children in an appropriate, culturally safe and strengths based manner.
  • Other relevant tasks to support the smooth running of the Kool Kids program, as requested by staff.

Note: It is not permitted to bring children (ie. your own children or children who are not part of the Kool Kids program) to any Kool Kids activities.
