The Annual Fernside Skate Comp is here once again and set to kick off Youth Week 2015 with a bang. The Comp has been running for 17 years, showing it is important to people from the skate community and beyond.
If you’re keen on checking out some jaw dropping, edge of your seat action, come along and see what all the fuss is about. If you skate and want to show your ability, the stage is set and this is the perfect chance to have fun skating in a friendly, competitive environment and to win some rad prizes.
Thanks to the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, a massive open air theatre will be Broadcasting the skate comp live followed by a viewing of "Volcoms True to this Video" - a full length movie at 6.30pm.
If you're into your gadgets then the Save the Children Mobile Youth Van is right up your ally. The van will be open for the public to learn new skills around digital media, rap and Rhyme so come and get your geek on.
The competition will be a “jam” format designed to be more inclusive, less intimidating and a lot more fun.
Registration for juniors closes at 2pm (6 to 11years)
Teens registration closes at 3pm (12 to 17 years)
Girls registration closes at 4pm (open age group)
Opens registration closes at 5pm (18 + years)

Winner announcements at 6.15pm
The Fernside Clip Comp is set to kick off from 1 March and anybody can submit a short video via Instagram by simply hash tagging #fernsidesclipcomp
There will be a weekly “video hype” re-post of that week’s top video.
You can enter as many times as you want, with the weekly winners going into the final.
Winners will be drawn at 5pm on the day of the Skate Comp and will be judged by some of Australia’s best skateboarders. May the best man or lady win #fernsideclipcomp
