Volunteers Wanted to Drive a Bus on Fri and Sat Nights

Weave seeks volunteers who have a commitment to helping young people get home safely.

Many young people do not have family members or other adults who can pick them up from their Friday or Saturday night outings.  This is where the Streetbeat Bus plays an important role.

The Streetbeat Bus picks up young people from across the inner west and inner city areas of Sydney and drives them home.  Importantly, this service also provides an opportunity for young people to make contact with Weave youth workers and be referred to assistance if the young person needs help in other ways.

A group of volunteers are needed who are able to drive a 14-seater bus between the hours of 9pm and 2am on Friday or Saturday nights.  A volunteer could choose to drive once a month or weekly or event every couple of months.

If you’re interested, and we hope you are, download the Volunteer Application Form.doc and send it to claire@weave.org.au or to P.O box 2459 Strawberry Hills NSW 2012. Alternatively you can call Claire Croumbie-Brown on 9318 0539.
