A qualified and experienced Children’s/Youth Worker is required as an activity worker on an Early Intervention, development and leadership program for children and young people who reside in the South Ward of the Randwick LGA (La Perouse- Sth Maroubra). 

The position will work 3 days per week running Kool Kids Club Activities programs (7-12 year olds) and running the transition to high school and youth leadership programs (12-18 years).

The activities worker would be part of a small team of committed and enthusiastic workers, the program focuses on providing group activity based programs after school and throughout the school holiday period. This is not simply an activities program. Kool Kids Club provides hope, structure, guidance, social skills and life skills, alternative experiences and positive opportunities that these children and young people would not otherwise have access to.

3 days per week  (Monday - Wednesday)  (21 hours per week) – SCHADS Award Level 2, Paypoint 1-4 depending on qualifications and experience.

Remuneration will be above the SCHADS Award rate ($27.02-$29.72)  per hour: Paypoint will depend on qualifications and experience. Significant salary packaging benefits available.  

The successful applicant will have experience in program development and implementation and skills in delivering group work.

Experience working with Aboriginal young people, a strong commitment to social justice and knowledge of the community sector is also necessary. You will also need a current full NSW driver’s license
